The Festival of Learning 2016 has ended, it took place June 6–9, 2016. This post-secondary education event hosted more than 400 delegates, offering a variety of session formats, learning experiences, unique spaces, as well as social and networking events. Laurel has been working in the areas of health, education and community development for over fifteen years, alongside her faculty position at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Her teaching passions include transformative, arts-informed and technology-enhanced learning. She is in the second year of her second Masters degree, through SelfDesign Graduate Institute, where she is inquiring into student engagement using daily writes and field notes to develop/generate autoethnography data; ‘How can I support students in ascending the spiral/unfolding in a seminar with a Meet Me at the Table format? What is the experience of the educator in supporting learning at the table?”

Laurel lives in Crescent Beach, BC, with her husband, and their three children. In her spare time she takes long walks and reads extensively on Holistic Learning and Creative Arts and Community Cultural Development.
