Alicia is the former Vice-President Academic for the University of Calgary Students' Union. She has a Bachelor of Kinesiology and is now working on a Bachelor of Nursing. Alicia was a committee member of ABOER this year and was very vocal on the committee about the direction she wants to see this province go with OERs. Her work over the last year has increased awareness on her campus about the use of OERs and lead to a new pilot project that will be debued starting in July 2017. Her work has gained international attention as well. She was asked to be a speaker for the SPARC OpenCon Community Call during OER week to share her experiences and discuss the new pilot project. Alicia will continue to be involved in OER initiatives on the University of Calgary Campus as long as she is there and is anxious to see the result of the pilot project.
